OKANAGAN INDIAN BAND FAMILY PLACE Vernon, BC
The Okanagan Indian Band (OKIB) Family Place is a one-storey cultural building with form language derived from the four unique communities that make up OKIB. The building is intended to be the hub of the community with a cultural hall at its centre. The Family Place will also house several child and family services, along with spaces designed to enhance wellness and health. An athletic track surrounds the hall and looks out over an intensive green roof that helps mitigate heat gain to the building.
