AMENITY SPACE AT THE EXCHANGE TOWER  Vancouver, BC

Located in the heart of the Exchange Tower, the Amenity Space provides a free entertainment and gathering space (for users and guests). To unite this relaxing social space within the greater context of the Exchange Tower, we pursued a simple and bright design. Accents of red in the furnishings and ceiling add an element of playfulness, which is punctuated by the addition of a large TV, couches, foosball table and a large high top meeting table.

Recognized with an American Architecture Prize and City of Vancouver Heritage Award of Honour, the Exchange Tower project involved the rehabilitation of the old Stock Exchange Building, the retention of its heritage status and the incorporation of a new 31-storey office tower. The project is certified LEED Platinum and is Vancouver’s first LEED Platinum Heritage Conversion and Canada’s eighth largest LEED Platinum Building.
