SNXASTWILXTN CENTRE   Penticton, BC

The design of this health and administrative centre for the Penticton Indian Band draws inspiration from the sedimentary layers of the Okanagan hills and the traditional art of basket weaving. The linear form wraps around the face of the hill on which the building is sited and provides privacy and separation. The three departments occupying each wing are woven together around the central corridor to create a cohesive community facility. The banded walls alternately fold in and peel away to define the building entrances and openings.
