DARREN RADBOURNE | 1976 – 2022

The resident “Green Thumb” from Fairview, Alberta, Darren Radbourne had been a valued member of our team since January 2019. He brought a wealth of knowledge from his 20-year career in architecture and construction, and an inquisitive mind that was constantly pursuing better design solutions. His passion for innovation resulted in many dynamic and inspiring contributions to the built environment. He took pride in bringing fun, adventure, and transformative thinking to every client group and project discussion that he was a part of.

Darren was not only a colleague, but a mentor and friend to everyone at the firm. No matter how busy he was, he gave everyone around him his undivided attention. He was the kind of person who gave more than he took and was seen as the “best older brother” one could have by so many of his colleagues. His infectious sense of humour and upbeat personality brought life into the office daily.

Outside the world of architecture and construction, Darren also wore many hats. Not only was he a loving husband to his wife Amy and dog-dad to Bernie and Daisy, but he gave his time and talents to music, sports, and the Vancouver Rotary, and to the housing and community-building sector. His unique gift for building genuine connections meant he had an enormous impact on everyone he encountered.

Through patience and kindness, Darren left a lasting and incomparable impression on everyone at Iredale Architecture. His uplifting presence and unshakable compassion will be missed beyond measure.
