PENTICTON METER SHOP ADDITION, RENOVATION AND YARD

 

They key issue was the development of a phased work plan, which allowed for the continuous operation of the facility during construction and renovation. This included operation of office, shop, warehouse and yard space. FortisBC’s work methods require a high degree of collaboration between the different functions, which means that at all times, each area needed to be accessible to staff from the other areas.

 

The addition that we designed and built includes a specialized technical laboratory for the testing and calibration of meters. This area has tight parameters on working temperatures, air stratification and humidity. We built a climatization zone to fully insulate the laboratory areas from exterior climatic conditions. At the same time, we designed the exterior of the addition to seamlessly integrate with the existing facility, according to the requirements of the building permit.

 

Both during construction and in the new and renovated facilities, we met FortisBC’s extremely stringent safety requirements.
