LANGLEY COMPRESSOR STATION SERVICE FACILITY

For this project, we developed a phased work plan that allowed for the construction of three buildings in a blast zone and in an Agricultural Land Reserve, adjacent to a red-listed stream with a very high water table. An extensive Erosion and Sediment Control Plan was required. We redesigned drainage and carefully controlled sedimentation during and post-construction, by using ponds, silt fences and filtration systems.

Another issue was that the building is located within the blast zone of a major gas trunk line traversing the Fraser Valley. We followed the safety requirements for building within such zones, designing for blast-resistance and using measures such as non-combustible cladding.

Finally, we supported the budgeting and scheduling processes of the Owner, which entailed a delay between planning and construction. We provided a schematic design and budgeting and schedule projections which were achieved during the course of the construction project.
