The clients requested a modern building with open spaces and indoor/outdoor living. The result is a simple configuration of geometric boxes that define the different areas of the house and take advantage of the orientation of the property. Anchoring the building is an exposed concrete shear wall with cantilevered stairs and a large skylight above that infuses the inner spaces with natural daylight. The finishes are clean and contemporary with minimalist detailing. At the rear of the property is a complimentary laneway house that incorporates the same design strategy as the main house.
